You're so wise. You're like a miniature Buddha, covered in hair.

We are in San Diego! At about 10pm Eastern time, our plane touched down a bit early at 7pm local time. I was a bit sad to not get my enhanced pat-down, but at least I didn't have to go through the scanner: enough said. Jean is a seasoned traveler and got through security without a hitch; with Kaya in her wake, another young traveler was tutored in how to breeze through security. Fortuitously, Teisha does not give the impression of one to be trifled with. Cody does not see what the fuss on the news was all about as he quickly forgot about it and was looking for MacDonalds. However, there was some mouth wash confiscated and Jahaira had to get through a six hour flight with the possibility of stinky breath. Dauntless, she and the rest of us arrived smiling.

We are staying in a rather nice hotel in the Gaslamp District. Severn School payed for a lovely dinner at MaryJane's, a retro diner with snippets of television from bygone days on an endless loop. The kids were just a bit bummed that the Hard Rock Hotel was way cooler than ours, yet I think they will appreciate how close ours is to the conference it self. Thank you, Mr. Lagarde for our great meal.

As of the writing of this post, we are getting coffee and pastries. Other attendees and their chaperons suss each other out as we congregate in this little area. The Gillman contingent that shared our flight greeted us and it was nice to see their Diversity Coordinator again. Cody is keeping abreast of the sports and gals are getting their lattes and teas at a conveniently located Startbucks. They have my credit card, so I hope they do not go crazy and buy overpriced water.

As soon as I can figure it out, pictures will be posted.

Ciao.
